Scope

The scope of EDUSAF (Education Safari) – Journal of Educational Research and Innovation encompasses a wide range of scholarly inquiries and innovations in education, including but not limited to the following areas:

1. Teaching and Learning Models

Explores innovative pedagogical frameworks such as inquiry-based, cooperative and collaborative, problem-based, and project-based learning, as well as technology-mediated instructional strategies that foster student engagement, critical reasoning, creativity, and deeper conceptual understanding.

2. Curriculum and Instructional Development

Focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum frameworks aligned with 21st- century competencies. Topics include the integration of local wisdom, ethnopedagogical approaches, thematic learning, and competency-based curricula that support student-centered and culturally responsive education.

3. Technology-Enhanced Learning

Investigates the transformative role of digital technologies—including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mobile learning, e-learning platforms, flipped classrooms, and STEM education—in reshaping learning environments and cultivating digital, computational, and higher- order thinking skills.

4. Teacher Professional Development and Pedagogical Competence

Addresses issues of teacher training, professional advancement, and pedagogical effectiveness. Central themes include emotional intelligence, teacher motivation, performance appraisal, school leadership, supervisory practices, and strategies for fostering reflective, adaptive, and innovative educators.

5. Educational Assessment and Evaluation

Covers the development and application of innovative assessment models and instruments for measuring student learning. Emphasis is placed on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) assessments, authentic assessment practices, large-scale educational evaluations, and program evaluation frameworks such as the Kirkpatrick model.

6. Character Education and Student Development

Examines the cultivation of moral values, civic responsibility, socio-emotional maturity, and holistic student growth. This includes the development of Pancasila student profiles, motivational factors, learning interest, and the creation of inclusive, participatory, and democratic classroom cultures.

7. Language and Literacy Education

Focuses on language acquisition, literacy development, and bilingual/multilingual education. Key areas include English language learning, reading comprehension enhancement, digital literacy integration, and the role of multicultural and intercultural education in language teaching.

8. Educational Psychology and Learning Behaviors

Explores psychological determinants of student achievement, including cognitive styles, self- regulation, motivation, classroom environment, and the role of guidance and counseling in supporting both academic achievement and personal development.

9. Special and Inclusive Education

Addresses pedagogical approaches and instructional practices that respond to the needs of diverse learners. Topics include strategies for teaching students with special needs, development of inclusive curricula and materials, and the effectiveness of differentiated instruction in heterogeneous classrooms.

10. Leadership and Policy in Education

Engages with issues of governance, school leadership, and policy innovation. This includes the managerial competencies of educational leaders, the implementation and impact of the Merdeka Curriculum, and policy reforms aimed at institutional improvement and systemic educational transformation.
